Kate Bush Lands an Invite Into a Special List, Courtesy of ‘Stranger Things’ Stunning Revival of Her ‘Running up the Hill’

However, Kate Bush’s 1985 pop ballad saves her during the pivotal scene when this sorcerer is about to crush her. Following the unanimous success of that revived 90s song, the English singer is now going to achieve another milestone.
According to Variety, Kate Bush has been selected to join the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. The 64-year-old singer received votes from the general ballot after her song re-surged on the internet through Stranger Things. Other artists who will also attend include Willie Nelson, Missy Elliott, Sheryl Crow, and George Michael.

The 2023 ceremony will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on November 3. It appears that Running Up The Hill not only opened the portal for Max but brought this country legend back to the limelight. Upon the release of season 4 volume 1, this song earned a 9,000 percent increase on Spotify.
Not only that, but it also topped the charts of the U.K. and U.S. singles bringing an inevitable glory for the singer. The hype of the song grew so much that the singer made a public statement which was itself a rare sight. At this moment, Bush might be ecstatic that she approved the creators’ use of this song in the series.

Stranger Things season 4 music supervisor Nora Felder sat down with Indie Wire previously to talk about the hype Running Up The Hill created. During the conversation, she opened up about how she approached Bush and why she agreed. She revealed that the Hounds of Love singer is particular about what movies and shows use her music and she feared if they would get the approval or not.
The supervisor wrote an essay to describe the song as crucial because it thematically resonated with the character’s journey. Fortunately, it turned out that Bush was a huge fan of the show and she loved the concept. And this is how the beloved Max escaped Vecna on the verge of death for a short period.
