Wednesday has been making history since it arrived on the streaming giant. The latest one was becoming the most popular English Language show on Netflix. The horror comedy dethroned fan-favorite pop culture phenomena Stranger Things and won this title. This happened because the streaming company changed its way of measuring the viewership records, which gave this series an upper hand. Seeing this massive victory, many fans might have thought that nothing can surpass this series. But from what the statistics have measured, this impossible feat has been achieved by The Idol.

Pop Base recently rolled out a tweet revealing that the debut show of The Weeknd which stirred controversies on social media has overpowered shows like Wednesday and The Last of Us. They posted a screenshot of the website Television Stats that tracks the popularity of shows. It showed the HBO drama taking first place on the list of top seasons, leaving behind two most popular shows.

Just because this drama has been trending on social media, it does not mean people have changed their minds about it. Except for the Emmy-worthy performance of Jennie Ruby Jane, nothing has changed so far. According to the HNHH, The Idol garnered 3.6 million views in its first week, but it has a twist.

It is reported that people who sat to watch the series could not get past two episodes and viewers are dropping overwhelmingly negative reactions on social media. This is how the show has become the hot topic in town, getting all the terrible publicity that any HBO show would have received. So fans of Wednesday and The Last of Us certainly have nothing to worry about here.
