Jon Hurwitz’s ‘Cobra Kai’ Resumes Scriptwriting for Final Season With Thrilling Filming Update
After the WGA Union ended its strike against production houses, Cobra Kai’s creator, Jon Hurwitz, pledged a fast move on the scriptwriting of the final season. However, with the SAG-AFTRA strikes continuing, he remained diabolical about the shooting resumption. Only a week into the strike’s conclusion, the creator jumped at the first opportunity to give his show and its fans a new life with a new season.
Staying true to his promises, Jon Hurwitz revealed that the writer’s team is turning all its creative juices into a top while curating a top-notch script along with a plausible timeline for the shooting to revamp.

The anxious wait for the return of Cobra Kai’s season 6 is finally counting days. A user on X, formerly Twitter, TheMattFlower revealed, as reported by getFANDOM, that the final season of Cobra Kai has reinstated scripting procedures. Reports suggest that the season is progressing “back in the writer’s room”. Not only that, but the declaration was two-fold. According to the said reports, the season will also resume filming in 2024.
The creator has allegedly disclosed a timeline, “at the top of the new year”. Raking the anticipation even more, the caption further said, “Hopefully in 2024 our starved fans will be fed”. Ever since the announcement, fans expressed their enthusiasm, hoping that the creators maintain their legacy.
Although the sparks of excitement take up space, the disappointment for the show coming to an end also recurs. However, given that the creators have room for possible spin-offs, fans might have something to look forward to.

Cobra Kai’s success as a sequel to The Karate Kid has no bars on its success. The credit undeniably goes to its creators, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald. In a recent interview with UPI for Hurwitz’s Obliterated series, the creator touched upon the topic of spin-offs. Although Hurwitz did not confirm any lending for the future, he did hint at a leeway for the forthcoming.
He said, “Hopefully, the characters are rich enough that if there is an opportunity in the future to pick up with them again one day, they’ll still be characters people are hoping to spend time with,”. Initially, the show was created for YouTube until in 2020, Netflix picked the saddle for its 3rd season and on. Hence, given Hurwitz is picking up future projects for Netflix, one can hope that someday it will be the case for Cobra Kai’s spin-off.
