After the pandemic, concerns have been plenty over the countless box office busts, but this trip around the sun was a refresher, with a cinematic climax poised on the horizon. Although Netflix had its fair share of setbacks with the industry’s top dogs slamming its release brochure, the streamer is famous for pulling up its sock even at the direst of times. To help it achieve the same, Jason Bateman recently lent it a helping hand with Carry-On.

According to What’s On Netflix, Jason Bateman’s holiday flick, Carry-On, earned the biggest opening week on Netflix in 2024 with a whopping 42 million views. Carry-On is currently trending atop the list of every Top 10 movie charts worldwide, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico, New Zealand, and Spain on December 17. With 924 points, Carry-On is #1 on the Global Top 25 Movies list. 

Carry-On is a 2024 action thriller holiday film by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by T.J. Fixman. It stars Jason Bateman, Taron Egerton, Sofia Carson, and Danielle Deadwyler. The flick hit Netflix on December 13, debuting with a staggering 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes to take fans in for the holiday treat. Carry-On follows a TSA officer coerced into compromising airport security on Christmas Day, allowing a hazardous package to slip onto a flight.
