Jason Bateman Reveals Byrde Family’s Future as Ozark Ends: “they’ll go up to Chicago and they’ll test this theory of Wendy’s”

While you hear an abundance of people say that it is the journey that matters the most and not the ending, it is not always true when it comes to shows and their finales. Especially if the show is as intricate as Netflix’s Ozark, it becomes even more important to see how things end in it. And that is exactly why, even after the end of the series, everyone is still analyzing the last episode and trying to predict the further story for Marty Byrde’s (Jason Bateman) family.

Knowing how deeply engrossed both Bateman and Mundy are in Ozark, it is no surprise that they have thought a lot about what may happen with the family after the show ends. While talking to Variety about the last season of the show, both of them revealed the ideas they have about what the Byrdes might do after Ozark.

I would bet you that they’ll go up to Chicago and they’ll test this theory of Wendy’s,Jason Bateman says. While talking about whether the ends will justify the means for Byrdes, he said, “My assumption is that, while they’re smarter now than when we first met them, I still feel like their hubris and arrogance will continue to trip them up.” He said it will be humility that will guide them towards better decisions, but unfortunately, they are just not there yet.

However, Mundy was a bit too straight with his prediction. “I think they’ve gone on,” he predicted. “They got everything they think they wanted. But I think they’re dragging around a curse, to be honest.
