African Queens: Njinga by Jada Pinkett Smith received mixed reviews

The OTT platform is planning to release the first season of the docuseries on the 15th of February, 2023. The documentary will talk about Njinga’s rise to power. Trusting the works of the historians, the docuseries will showcase some major events that happened during the 39 years that she ruled. The African Queen was famous for her diplomatic skills along with her military powers. While known for being strong, Njinga is also honored as a hero for resisting a Portuguese imperial power.

While Netflix is bringing a documentary about the brave African Queen, this is not the first attempt to honor her legacy.
