The third season of The Witcher has three episodes remaining that are scheduled to be released on July 27. Fans are eagerly anticipating how the show will handle Henry Cavill‘s exit from his role as Geralt. However, one character who shines in this season is Ciri, also known as the Lion Cub of Cintra, as she embarks on a challenging and transformative journey in the desert. Adding to existing hype surrounding her character, Freya Allan, the actress portraying Ciri, has shared some insights about one of its episodes referring to it as “an iconic moment” and a “pivotal point” in her character’s story arc.

In the third season, the sixth episode draws inspiration from a chapter in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel, The Time of Contempt. This portion of the story revolves around Ciris’s experience of opening a portal using her abilities. However, she unintentionally activates it when she is attacked by Rience and his companions. Initially hoping to reunite with Geralt on the other side, Ciri finds herself unexpectedly transported to a barren desert in an entirely different world.

To survive amidst thirst, hunger, scorching heat, sandstorms, and dangerous creatures, she must rely on her resourcefulness. During her journey, she encounters Auberon Muircetach, the king of Aen Elle and a distant ancestor of Ciri himself. Auberon seeks to use Ciri’s Elder Blood as a means to save his dying race.

Freya Allan has described the scene as of immense importance to her and her character. She says that the effort undertaken to bring it to life is worth it. Her character’s powers will truly marvel fans when the episode airs. The actress went on to say that her physical commitment to film the scene to match Ciri’s journey is what she anticipates.

Jaskier will continue to sing the tales of his friends’ escapades and his own misadventures that often land him in trouble.

This season will also introduce both faces from previous seasons and intriguing new characters from both the books and games.
