Harry Styles is once said to have shaded his ex through Kanye West. The British singer, who was once a famed member of the boy band One Direction, began his career being a contestant on The X factor. There he found success globally due to the band that he was in, along with Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, etc.

They eventually separated to focus on their own careers. Now, it is well known that the 29-year-old was dating American singer Taylor Swift. So when he performed a Kanye West song, there were speculations about whether he sang it to throw shade at Taylor Swift.

Harry Styles began his first single performance in Ye’s style. As per eonline, back in 2017, he performed the rapper’s hit song, Ultralight Beam. The song is from West’s album Life of Pablo. The event took place in London’s Garage Club with only limited seats as it was a last-minute surprise by the then 23-year-old.

It was speculated that he sang it as a taunt to taunt ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift since she has a rough history with the Donda singer. In fact, Styles was even asked this question by the BBC reporter and he said, “I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.” Although the answer was not too direct, it certainly hinted toward an affirmation.

Styles and Swift reportedly dated from 2012 to 2013. While the relationship was rather short-lived, both of them are said to have written a song about the other. His song Two Ghosts and her song Are You Ready for It are said to be about their dating phase. Their fans famously dubbed the couple Haylor during their dating phase.

Out of his twelve-song list, Styles only selected Ye’s cover song for the night. Regardless, the singer was much appreciated for his performance. Today, all three singers are in their own separate ways, while Swift’s beef with Ye continues.
