It’s Official! Queen Consort Camilla Officially Takes Over as the Queen, Says Buckingham
The present monarch of the United Kingdom, King Charles, and his wife, now officially called the Queen, Camilla has been all upfront with the plans for the coronation. While the pair has started to appear for a new royal engagement every other day, their subjects have finally accepted their new Queen after a long period of subtle disagreements and back and forth. The other day, Buckingham Palace gave the green light to officially eliminate the term “consort” associated with King Charles’ wife.
As issued in the official invitation card for the roaring finale of May 6th, the Palace referred has finally cleared the confusion. Nonetheless, many saw it coming since the King’s accession to the throne in last year’s September. It was due to the extreme association of Princess Diana with the same monarchical rank. The palace, in fact referred to her as the Princess Consort, until one day when the Queen decided to back her up as the Queen Consort.

Queen Camilla earned the title for herself
Back in the day, the subjects respected where the Prince’s happiness lay. Nonetheless, the sudden shifts of looking up to a “mistress” as the Princess of Wales were inconceivable and unlikely. As reported by BBC, the Palace was holding on to assign the title of “The Queen,” Camilla, in order to distinguish her from the late Queen Elizabeth II. However, the coronation has successfully created the optimal conditions for the world to finally look up to King Charles’s wife as the Queen.
During the time between the immediate accession after Queen Elizabeth’s death and the coronation, Queen Camilla made herself refreshingly open and approachable before the public. The King and her strived for numerous royal engagements together, serving the Kingdom and the commonwealth nations. Thus, she created the appropriate time for herself to instate the Queen’s title instead of Queen Consort.
