The latest One Piece live-action series turned the tide for Netflix. The project did the impossible by bringing a fresh take to Eiichiro Oda’s story without seeming cringeworthy or ridiculous. Since the live-action series aired on the streamer, it has broken multiple records and set new benchmarks. Owing to its successful journey on Netflix, the series is all set to return with a sequel with a direction already set in mind.

One Piece season 2 has become the talk of the town ever since the first season concluded. In the past few weeks, fans have made multiple speculations about the series. And recently, Nicole Hirsch Whitaker shed some light on where the series is headed.

It seems like the hype surrounding One Piece is on the rise and is not stopping anytime soon. Now that Netflix has green-lit the series’s production, fans are eager to know what battles lie ahead for the crew. And recently, Nicole Whittaker made some interesting revelations about the series’ future. During her conversation with The Direct, Whittaker revealed, “It’s gonna be like Harry Potter though, they’re gonna have to do it fast before everybody gets too old.”

She admitted how the creators have “so much material” to move forward with the show’s next seasons. Interestingly, Whittaker’s statement made a lot of sense. The Harry Potter series spanned over ten years, where the kid actors became young adults towards the end. However, on the contrary, the One Piece cast is already aged to begin with. While the change might not seem as extreme, it will surely be noticeable. Meanwhile, exciting new additions have already joined the cast.

One Piece live-action season 2 is arguably the most hyped project of the year. The fans are pumped to see the straw hat crew take on another adventure. Much to their delight, the second installment might be gracing our screens earlier than expected. Now that the ongoing Writer’s strike is over and SAG-AFTRA under negotiation, the creators will be getting back to work soon. 

As of late, there is no update on when the series will hit the small screens. However, a report suggests that the script for the sequel is nearly ready. In the midst of the hype surrounding the sequel’s release, the show’s director revealed that he wants to bring another anime to live-action.
