All fans of Israel Adesanya know how big of an anime fan he is. The UFC Middleweight champion calls himself “the strongest weeb in the world.” Two of his favorites are the animes Naruto and Avatar: The Last Airbender. The two, as expected, are based around fighting but are also drastically different. But, which of these does he prefer more?

Two of the most beloved animes in the league, Naruto and Avatar: The Last Airbender is nothing short of best vs best. Even Israel Adesanya had trouble choosing between the two. Here’s an interview of the world’s strongest weeb talking about his preferences:

Evident from the interview, Adesanya clearly favors Avatar in these situations. Don’t let that fool you into thinking that the UFC champion doesn’t have a thing for Naruto, either!

Naruto is hands-down one of the most popular animes on Netflix. The series, adapted from manga, is about the world of ninjas and how the titular character, Naruto Uzumaki, makes a name for himself. A motivating storyline about a young outcast boy who becomes the most powerful man in his universe solely out of hard work is something Adesanya resonated with.

The UFC champion grew up with an ardent love for animes, something his peers considered uncool at the time. Another Naruto character Adesanya likes is Rock Lee, who has no magical powers, unlike his peers.

The character flourishes solely on consistent practice and is one of the best. During his face-off with Anderson Silva at UFC 234, Adesanya went down in history for striking the popular “Rock Lee Pose”. Needless to say, he won the match.

Then comes Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you haven’t heard of or guessed it yet, Adesanya’s nickname, “The Last Stylebender”, is a take on this anime’s title. Evidently, the man definitely shares a love for Avatar as well.

To sum up Israel Adesanya’s preferences, between Sakura and Katara, it’s the latter, but Adesanya “would rather Hinata.”
