What does this League of Legends series focus on?
The series Arcane on Netflix focuses on two of the most intriguing characters of League of Legends- Vi, and Jinx. As the war between the utopian city of Piltover and the repressed grounds of Zaun is raging, the two sisters find themselves on opposite sides.
Fighting for the titular arcane technology, the series recounts how the two sisters ended up on different sides of the war. With a bunch of morally gray characters, Arcane makes for an intense watch. Through the nine episodes of the first season, we watch the downsides of war, two cities being famished entirely, and Vi and Jinx grow as characters. The sisters, although once united, realize their paths have diverged and that they cannot continue to grow together.
Arcane- the universes of Piltover and Zaun brought to life
Being based on a show beloved by many, the bar was already high for Arcane, even before its release. That being said, the series didn’t disappoint anyone.
The plot and characters of Arcane received the highest praise. While most shows based on video games tend to be over-exaggerated and dry, Arcane stands out with an interesting plot and extremely compelling characters. The League of Legends series also received universal critical acclaim for its animation style- a unique blend of 2D and 3D.
