The case of the Markles with the Royal family has always been haywire. First, the frenzy gripped the nation when they realized that their young Prince was going to marry a foreigner. And then later again when Thomas Markle started giving interviews to the paparazzi that were considered to be ‘bizarre’ by many Royal Family experts. The reasons behind his absence from the wedding are still hard to be pinned down. While claiming that he hung up the phone on Prince Harry is one thing but he has said much shadier things about the Royal family.

Despite the years that have passed since the marriage, Meghan Markle’s relationship with her father has seen no improvement. Their statement in the docuseries is a testament. While Prince Harry and the former actress may have some shortcomings but Thomas Markle’s claim that the Royal family was part of a notorious cult was probably the last straw.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Royal Family are Scientologists?

The Royal family has often been in the news for its virtues. One that it holds very close to the heart is the stiff upper lip. The stiff upper lip is essential for the Royal family in order to keep themselves above the drama, not just in the hierarchy but also in dignity. However, this practice of sewing their mouth whenever involved in any controversy has made way for further extravagant theories.

For instance, the time when Thomas Markle told The Sun magazine in 2018 that “They are cult-like—like Scientology—because they are secretive…They close the door, pull the shades down and put their fingers in their ears so they don’t have to hear.,”

Meghan Markle’s father was pushed to a corner when day after day he kept making statements about not being invited to the wedding of his daughter to no acknowledgment, let alone apology, from the royal family. Markle at that time said that the Royal family were either part of “Scientology or the Stepford family,”.

Was Thomas Markle telling the truth?

In 2018, Thomas Markle’s statements made waves because of his close proximity to the Royal family, given that his daughter was marrying the Prince. However, fast forward to a few years, he is not the only Markle making accusations towards the Royal family.

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry have themselves come out to state their disapproval regarding the Royal family’s silence. Especially after Jeremy Clarkson’s degrading statements regarding Meghan Markle. However, there has not been any strong evidence tieing the Royal family to the cult of Scientology. Moreover, the Royal Family is the head of the Church of England, which is a Protistan Anglican church.
