Netflix of late has been producing a lot of World War II and continuing on that tradition, it has released a new real-life inspired film, ‘The Bombardment.’ The film is about a tragic event that took place in the Danish region of Copenhagen. It sent shockwaves throughout the city and caused millions of innocent lives.
History around the tragic incident
World War II was a dark period in the entire human history. The atrocities that took place during the period were chilling and have haunted the victims for years to come.
One such commendable incident took place in Copenhagen.
In the Danish capital, a 1945 Royal Air Force bombing operation went wrong and took many innocent lives, many of them children. A load full of bombs fell on a packed school full of children. What is worse is the fact that the school was not even a target. It was all a mistake, and the bombing happened without any warning.
The film picks up after the heinous bombing occurs. And explores the aftermath of the explosion. The explosion was to such an extent it sent shock waves throughout the capital.

March 15, 2022 at 3:22 amAs I have gotten older I have become more and more interested in learning what really happened to my “Home” country during World War 2. I was born in Jylland in 1941. I had vaguely heard the name Shellhus and knew something awful had occured. This movie truly made a huge impact on me and I congratulate the persons involved in bringing it to the screen. It’s amazing to think that 86 children plus adults perished due to a mistake.

March 19, 2022 at 8:27 amI am very curious why the mistake happened. How could orders be so misconstrued to bomb a school with children and nuns. It seems that wasn’t the first incorrect bombing that happened. I’m sure there were many more that were never reported.
Very sad movie … right up there with Schindler’s List.
