Netflix has announced that it has ordered a live-action series for the beloved cartoon Scooby-Doo. According to Netflix, this modern reimagining sees old pals Shaggy and Daphne joining forces at summer camp with brainy townie Velma and the oddly charming Fred to crack the case of a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy who might have seen something downright supernatural.
Right now, an order of an eight-episode series has passed. It is the very initial stage, as major developments that begin with casting are yet to begin. Executive producers on the show will be Sarah Schechter, Jeff Pinkner, Greg Berlanti, Leigh London Redman, and André Nemec. The last time the cartoon got a real-life rendition was back in 2002, which was written by James Gunn and starred Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
In modern day, the world of cartoons is filled with hundreds of new characters, but the warmth and nostalgia that old cartoons provide remain unmatched.
