Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first aired on NBC back in 1964. After its debut, the network held onto the holiday favorite for several years, airing it annually until 1972, when Rudolph moved to a new TV home. But this year, for the first time since the 1970s, Rudolph is making his way back to NBC. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the stop-motion classic will air on its original network with a special extended version. Sadly though, the animated Rudolph special is not available on Netflix.
There is also a Broadway show, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, running from November 29 to December 29, 2024, at multiple theaters. Netflix, nonetheless, has stocked up on new Christmas content, including a holiday movie starring none other than a British royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Years after leaving the acting world, Meghan Markle was recently seen in her first movie, that too alongside her royal husband.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix cameo
Lindsay Lohan recently starred in Netflix’s latest Christmas movie, Our Little Secret. But the real surprise was a glimpse of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in it. In the film, Lohan’s character endures a messy breakup, followed by a credit sequence that flashes through major moments in the last decade, leading to the movie’s 2024 setting. And in one of those flashes a shot from the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding was featured.

Seeing Markle, the former actress, on screen- even if only for a second- alongside Prince Harry in a Netflix movie made the cameo all the more special. Nonetheless, even if Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will not be lighting up the Netflix screens this Christmas, there is still plenty of festive fun to go around on the streaming giant.
