Back in 2019, the world was taken over by Netflix when the fantasy world of The Witcher got a brand new addition. While most people were obsessed with Henry Cavill‘s role in the series, his reign ended up coming to an end after the third season. Now, with the show going into its fourth season with Liam Hemsworth, the creators decided it was time to give fans one of their favorites from the games and the books.

It was the character of Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, who was set to be played by Laurence Fishburne. However, the sudden addition had fans wondering what the character would be like.

What fans can expect from Laurence Fishburne’s Regis in The Witcher?

Just a day ago, Laurence Fishburne was added to the cast of The Witcher for season 4. It was revealed that he would be taking up the role of the beloved Regis. So far, the character has been described as a “world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past who joins Geralt on his journey,” to not give anything away. However, in the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, the character was a higher vampire who helped Geralt and Yennefer take on Vilgefortz.

While he may have met his end in that fight, the character had proved to be an ally. Although his storyline could go either way in the series, fans are hoping that they will get to see The Matrix star be in cahoots with Liam Hemsworth’s character without turning on him. However, there is no saying what could end up happening in the fourth season of the series.

Although Fishburne’s addition could bring about a more exciting storyline for The Witcher, some fans are still unhappy about the show continuing with Henry Cavill. Thankfully, the star did not let that stop him from taking up the role.

Laurence Fishburne shared his thoughts on joining The Witcher cast

In a statement to Variety, Laurence Fishburne opened up about how excited he was to be a part of The Witcher cast. He said that he was “looking forward to exploring the wondrous world” that has been created over the years. While the star seems to be gearing up for his role as Regis, filming will not begin until spring of this year. With filming starting a little later in the year, there is no saying when fans can expect the 4th season to drop.

Although the series seems to be giving fans exactly what they want, it is not the only thing that fans are looking forward to. The fourth season will also be Liam Hemsworth’s first try at portraying Geralt of Rivia. While he might have a lot of pressure on him to fill in Henry Cavill’s shoes, the world will have to wait and see if the actor can live up to it.
