Being the most savvy streaming platform with a barrage of options to tickle the fantasy of not just the young and new but also the golden older demographic while also creating original content that caters to both comes at a cost. A modern take on Greek mythology, Netflix went no holds barred, KAOS with everything from the incredible writing, moving performances, and most importantly the unique concept, was a winner. However, much like Zeus himself, the streamer turned into a master of ghosting as it dropped the curtains on the series just after one season. KAOS remains canceled at Netflix as confirmed by one of its leading stars, Aurora Perrineau, in a now-deleted post.
Though the post, like the series, was swiftly deleted, it caught enough eyes to create a chaos of its own. The series managed to be one of the few recent releases of the OTT streamer that swiftly brought it critical acclaim and even cemented fans' beliefs about a Season 2 as it bid what fans thought would be a short farewell with its eighth episode.
Given the uproar regarding its cancellation and fans roaring about its brilliance, one wonders why Netflix made the cruel decision for the series.

Netflix, the very institution that prides itself on bringing every conceivable corner of cinematic genius to the table, runs on one currency: viewership ratings. As brilliant as a series may be, if it does not manage to absolutely wreck the Top 10 charts, the chances of its survival become very tricky. Surprisingly, KAOS did remain on the said chart for four weeks after its debut. However, while the quality of the show remained, the quantity of views decreased from there on.
With a switch of the title from KAOS: Season 1 to KAOS: N/A, it seems that the streamer had decided to cancel the series as soon as it saw a downward slope in viewership ratings following the initial seasons. While this slashing does strike as cruel, it is one rule that the streamer has devotedly followed, and slashed even franchise-making series' such as That 90s Show among many others. However, with such acclaimed masterpieces getting slashed to make room for more quick clicks, it is quite a surprise that Netflix itself has not met the same fate as the Olympians. After all, hell hath no fury like a Greek God scorned.
