Geralt of Rivia is one of the most beloved characters Henry Cavill has played after Superman. The British actor carried this enchanting role for two seasons as a monster hunter in a medieval landscape. However, the announcement of his exit made headlines that his tenure as monster slayer was short-term. Liam Hemsworth will be taking his place after season 3 of The Witcher, as he told his fans on Instagram.
This news was crushing for fans who fell in love with this white-haired warrior and his remarkable fighting skills, while others were delighted that their superhero was back in his cape after a long time. But is Cavill’s The Witcher exit worth nothing, with the actor’s Superman role still up in the air?
Does leaving The Witcher the correct decision for Henry Cavill?
According to the details shared by Comicbook, the return of Henry Cavill in the DC Universe is not solidified yet. The Man of Steel star announced on social media last month that he is reprising the role of Superman. Meanwhile, fans also got a glimpse of him at the end of Dwayne Johnson’s film Black Adam.
However, the report says that the project is currently under the clouds since no writer or director has joined the project, at the moment. No official deal, which would confirm his place in the film, has been made with the actor, either.
According to the source, Warner Bros is trying to plan something huge for Superman comeback this time. However, it is nothing until role gets the justice that it deserves through a fitting storyline and treatment. As for now, nobody knows whether the Enola Holmes 2 star did the right thing by leaving The Witcher or not, even though the reasons for his departure are not related to the DCEU role.
Meanwhile, DC Comics’ Dan Jurgens has given fans some hope for the Henry Cavill character. “It works on almost a subliminal level. So I think it’s fantastic, and I certainly look forward to seeing a lot more of him in the suit,” remarked Jurgens. He thinks that the actor is natural at doing this and would bring great things.
