How Is Ciri Related to Geralt? Is It Just Fate?
Netflix‘s The Witcher has undoubtedly been one of the biggest shows on the platform. The fanbase it has captured is truly surreal. More than anything else, the series has given some very interesting and likable characters, causing a sense of intrigue among many. But honestly, there is something about two of these characters that always confuses them. The bond of Geralt and Ciri in The Witcher.
So let us all sit together, and learn about how are Geralt and Cirilla related. Is it only fate that connects them? Or is there something else? We will find out.
Ciri is the Witcher’s Child Surprise

It was the wedding of Queen Calanthe’s daughter Pavetta, where the fates of Geralt and Ciri were sealed together. After saving the life of Emhyr var Emreis(alias Duny), Pavetta’s husband. Geralt can ask for payment for his heroics. While most of the Cintran Ball played exactly the same in the books and the series, there was one minor detail that was different.
In the Netflix Original, Geralt is not really interested in claiming a reward at all. But when he is forced to ask for something, he jokingly says, “Give me what you have but do not know.” Thus, claiming the Law of Surprise just like Duny did. One might wonder if this gave him the reason to hate Geralt.
While Geralt is careless in the Netflix adaptation, in the books he is much smarter. He points out that witchers can not have a lineage, and thus he will come back after six years to claim his child of surprise.

Hence, Geralt and Ciri in The Witcher are connected to each other via fate, thanks to the Law of Surprise.
Is Geralt the father of Ciri in The Witcher?
Ciri is definitely not Geralt’s daughter, which is clear from the events that happen in the books and the Netflix series. They sure have a bond that resembles of a father and his daughter, but there is no biological relationship between the two.
