The Witcher Season 2 has finally landed in front of us, and we have fallen in love with the story so far. After rather Dunkirk-like storytelling of the show in the first season, it follows much stable and straight telling of the events in the new season. But it turns out, the makes of the show have confused viewers anyway, as many have pointed out the change in the appearance of Ciri. People are questioning if they changed Ciri actress in Season 2 of the Netflix show?
Well, there is no harm in being curious about the cast of the show, and, even if Ciri’s looks have changed very little, they are extremely noticeable. So what is going on with the cast of The Witcher? Did they really change Ciri actress for season 2? Let us come together and find out what is the truth behind this.
Did they recast Ciri actress in Season 2 of The Witcher?
There is no denying the fact that Ciri is looking quite different in the new season of the Netflix Original. It appears as if she aged 3-4 years between the events of the first and the second season, which is not possible at all as The Witcher Season 2 picked right where season 1 ended. So did they really replace the actress who played Ciri in season 1?
They definitely did not recast the actress, and honestly, Freya Allan is the perfect actress to play the role of Ciri, just like Anya Chalotra is for Yennefer and Henry Cavill is for Geralt. The major reason we have noticed a change in her appearance is because of the time gap we had between both seasons, owing to the global pandemic. Another reason for the change in look is Freya’s decision to not bleach her eyebrows, which are clearly distinguishable on the show.
If everything goes according to the Seven Season Plan of showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, we will see more of Ciri for at least a few years. We can not imagine any other actress to essay the role of the swallow, as Freya has done a phenomenal job portraying the young princess.
The Witcher Season 2 is available to stream globally on Netflix now.
