The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, first conceived the idea of the Invictus on his first trip to the Warrior Games in the USA. Borrowing inspiration from the “power of sports that could heal the wounded,” the military Prince established a bigger platform to help his fellow veterans. The Duke was well accustomed to a sense of patriotism and service to mankind, for he himself served ten years in the Royal military serving two tours to Afghanistan.

As reported by the royal family website, he first inaugurated the Invictus Games in the year 2014 in London. Using his much-celebrated platform, he overtook the patronage of the same. Bringing in the sick yet skilled, he helped them rehabilitate their image as a warrior and instill fair play among the fighters. Fast forward to 2023, and this year’s Invictus Games are being held in Germany. A broader range of participants feels eternally grateful to Prince Harry.
