The initiative supported by the Nelson Mandela Foundation featured a handful of inspirational leaders. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle collaborated with the likes of Bryan Stevenson, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Jacinda Ardern, Greta Thunberg, and others for the high-profile project. Though the seven-episode series fetched great reviews from the viewers, it left Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter Ndileka Mandela unimpressed.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accused of using Nelson Mandela’s legacy

“Harry needs to be authentic and stick to his own story, what relevance does grandad’s life have with his? They are using his quotations in the documentary to draw in people and make millions without the Mandela family benefiting,” the social activist said, as mentioned by Sky News

Though Ndileka Mandela is upset with the Duke of Sussex for using Nelson Mandela’s name to sell their show, she lauded him for standing up against the royal family. The 57-year-old admires Prince Harry’s confidence and courage in calling out the wrongdoings in Britain’s oldest institution. Meanwhile, she also advised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to carve their own path and fund their life by themselves.
