Much like how we worry about an underrated artist that we treasure changing, or worse, becoming mediocre at the first drop of fame, fans of Deadpool are worried that their favorite Merc with a Mouth will be stripped of everything that makes him so intriguing—violence, bad decisions, and a foul mouth—when he steps into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Deadpool 3.

Don’t get it twisted, fans were always excited for the crazy cameos, multiverse, and action that Deadpool’s much anticipated Marvel entry was going to bring, but the studio does love its PG-13 tag. Thankfully, for us, Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool 3, has stepped in to reassure fans that Deadpool 3 is going to be just as good (bad), if not more, as the previous movies.

Shawn Levy declares ‘hardcore violence’ as a vital part of Deadpool 3

Ryan Reynolds officially announcing in September that there is going to be a Deadpool 3, and that it is going to have Wolverine, has been the highlight of 2022 for many. Fans could not have enough of the Merc with a Mouth, despite the movie spending weeks and earning close to a billion at the box office. Apart from the antihero factor, it was the foul mother’s sense of humor and mindless violence that had fans watching the movie with heart eyes throughout its almost two-hour-long runtime. But despite Deadpool making his desperation on being a part of the Marvel universe very clear, fans were a bit unsure.

Given how Marvel keeps a clean slate when it comes to humor and violence is only shown to defend good morals, it did not really seem like a place where Deadpool would get to be his true self. However, in a recent interview with Steven Weintraub, Levy ensures fans that Deadpool 3 is just as chaotic as the previous movies in the franchise.

Now that fans have been reassured that their antihero is going to be just as foul-mouthed and cause havoc everywhere he goes, they can’t wait for the movie. Add to that the Logan factor, and the November 2024 release date seems decades far.
