On February 25th, 2022, in the finale episode of Love is Blind season 2, Deepti Vempati walks away from the wedding, and it’s best to say that she doesn’t regret it. In the final episode, she says, “I deserve someone who knows for sure. So, I’m choosing myself. I have no fucking regret.”

Since the beginning Love is Blind fans were sure Shake was not the man for Deepti, and we were always team Deepti. Throughout the show, we heard Shake compare Deepti to his aunt several times. After their families meet, Shake’s mother told him outright that he doesn’t deserve Deepti. In hindsight, he should have listened to his mom and broken off the relationship since even he wasn’t happy in it. It certainly would have saved him a rejection at the altar.

As embarrassing as it may have been for Shake, for viewers of Love is Blind and Deepti herself, her saying no was a huge moment of self love.

Before meeting Deepti, Shake shared about his necessity of physical attraction into a relationship. However, when the two met, they didn’t feel that attraction towards each other.

In conversation with BuzzFeed, Deepti confesses that both of them knew for sure that they lack physical intimacy and chemistry between them. It’s like they are forcing each other to be a part of a relationship. On the day of their massage date, she knew she couldn’t marry Shake.

She explains, “There was a pivotal moment after we had this massage date. It was really to instill some intimacy and to bring us closer together on that level — but it felt so disingenuous and like we were forcing it.”
