A lot of things have happened this year, but one of the most talked about is probably the Oscars Slapgate. The night at the 2022 Oscars witnessed Will Smith smack Chris Rock across the face for a joke he made at the expense of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Rock was the host of the night and he had cracked a joke about Jada’s alopecia. The incident was beyond shocking and spurred many articles on his behavior and his future in the industry.

Although allowed to keep his award for King Richards, he was banned from the Academy. Now, after months of silence, the actor has opened up about how he weathered the storm on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.

Will Smith admits that he is human and flawed

Will Smith was on the show to promote his upcoming movie, Emancipation. On the show, he revealed that he was going through a tough time during the ceremony and lost control of his emotions. He has come to accept that he is a flawed human, just like everyone else.

Nevertheless, Trevor Noah, who has known Smith for years, vouched for him on his show. Following the Oscars fiasco, the Independence Day star issued an apology to Rock and his family, but it fell on deaf ears.

An emotional Will urged the audience to watch the movie for the hard work that the production team and director Antoine Fuqua put into it. He did not want the audience to cancel and discredit his team’s hard work for his actions. However, he would still respect their choice if they do not watch it.
