“I want to be creative on all planes”- Kanye West Once Talked About His Future Plans To Get Into Fashion and Creation
Kanye West may have made a bucket full of disrespectful and controversial remarks, hurting various human sentiments, but that does not take away his inherent artistic virtue. Ever since he stepped into the world of the music industry, the hip-hop sensation never looked back, eventually becoming the richest rapper of his time. And evidently, music is not his only pursuit.
The College Dropout singer (in its literal sense also) was apparently an art student and still is a connoisseur of fashion, art, and everything in between. Back in 2004, when Ye just emerged as a hip-hop icon with his very first album debut, West talked about how he was in school and his future plans. He admitted he was “just really creative” in his academia and wanted to spend a lot of his time in “artistic stuff.”

The Yeezy brand owner who would sometime refer to himself as “Louis Vuitton don” then talked about his future plans on fans’ demand. Although he did not mention getting into footwear designing at that time, he answered her very wittily– “Well, I did actually start designing my own jewelry (took out his necklace).”
He further agreed that he is a renaissance man and wants to “be creative on all planes” so that one day if he cannot think of any raps and cannot come out with new tracks, a Plan B would be ready. Ye’s Yeezy line is perhaps a testament to his creative side.
Kanye West even talked about fashion elements one could find in his wardrobe

When the host asked him about clothes, one could find in his collection, rare vintage sneakers and sports jackets were unsurprisingly a big yes. However, West turned out to be not so big a fan of spandex shorts and cowboy hats. Designer backpacks are also something one would find in Ye’s collection.
During the interview, Ye looked absolutely charming in a lime-olive green biker jacket, chartreuse t-shirt, and white pants. He paired the fit with one of his vintage sneakers and his self-designed long necklace and a belt to tuck in the t-shirt. From there on, he did live up to his words, by starting a fashion line of his own and even teaming up with sportswear giants like Adidas, Nike, and Balenciaga.
