“I wanna have…” – Henry Cavill on Why He Does Not Prefer Stunt Doubles

However, we can expect to see him in future action movies as well. He is famous for playing Clark Kent and Geralt of Rivia for The Witcher.

But the actor who usually plays heroic roles also played a villain opposite to Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Fallout. While Cruise is already applauded for doing his own stunts, Cavill also followed him in this regard. In an interview, the 39-year-old revealed why he prefers to do his own stunts over having a stunt double.

Why Henry Cavill prefers doing his own stunts despite having stuntmen

While it is common for many actors to hire a stunt double, Cavill refers to doing his own stunts. Action movies are full of stunts that can often also be risky, but The Witcher actor only finds it to be fun. During an interview on the Rich Eisen Show, he was asked why he likes to do his stunts. To which he said, “I wanna have some fun too.

He explained further how he wants the audience to look at him and credit him, and not credit the stuntman for the work. That way, they can completely invest in the character without realizing that someone did the stunts. However, he did credit stunt performers for her fantastic work.

For Mission Impossible: Fallout, all but one stunt was done by Cavill. That was the sky diving jump, which he wanted to do, but was not allowed to since it could have put both his and Cruise’s life in danger. But both the actors did the helicopter stunt in the movie, which was already risky enough.

Cavill is known for taking his roles very seriously, often doing research for the parts as well, so the character can be as authentic as possible.
