A school full of mysteries, mayhem, and murder, along with some supernatural teens! This seems to be the perfect recipe for a successful show on Netflix or what the world witnessed when the spinoff show following the iconic daughter of the Addams family arrived on their screens. Wednesday instantly won over hearts of the worldwide viewers, making it the newest face of pop culture phenomena within months of its release. While dethroning the cult show like Stranger Things, the series installed itself among the most watched shows.

The reasons were many for fans to fall in love with the show, but the bubbly Enid Sinclair shared the perfect reason behind this obsession back in May of this year.

In May 2023, Emma Myers who played Enid Sinclair sat down with Netflix Queue to talk about Wednesday. In the interview, she shed some light on why people resonated with the titular character and the show. She stated that the comedy-drama presented the deadpan girl in a more humane form. This happened because, for the first time, she made friends, and it softened her sardonic vibe a bit. Wednesday made a lot of progress: from being a teenager who hated hugs to finally dropping this wall for Enid when they fought the evils together in season 1.

“As someone who always felt like I never really fit in anywhere, it’s really good to see that onscreen,” said the 21-year-old. According to the actress, her character’s dynamic friendship with the sarcastic girl allowed fans into her mind and get a clear picture of this estranged character.

Last month, Colleen Atwood spoke to Netflix Queue to dwell on the importance of costumes on Wednesday. During the conversation, she revealed that they did a photo shoot of both actors to understand how these two distinct personalities fit in one frame. On one hand, she had Enid,  an extrovert and full of colors, whereas, in contrast was Wednesday, the black-goth queen whose life was devoid of colors.

The 74-year-old said their unique outlooks towards life were one of the most important things for stories. This is why she created contrasting styles that could put their chemistry in the spotlight. Nevertheless, opposition is the key to chemistry.
