Evangeline Lilly once revealed an embarrassing conversation that she had with Hugh Jackman. The two actors have previously worked together on Real Steel, and perhaps her work led Jackman to approach her for a future opportunity. But the actress refused the role and was rather straight up about it.
The project that he wanted to join was none other than the X-Men team. Now, both actors are known for their action movies. But there was a reason why she passed on such a big role. During an interview, she explained her reason for doing so.

The Ant-Man actress was approached by Wolverine for an X-Men role once, which she refused. The revelation came when she recently appeared as a guest on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast where in she shared why and how she refused her Wonder Woman and X-Men roles. “I was like, ‘I feel like such a dick because I’m talking to an X-Men!“, she said about her reply to Jackman. She also told him how the role did not appeal to her, but later realized it was rude.
Hugh Jackman was apparently asked to ask her for the role. Since he worked with the actress, he wanted to know if she would be interested in X-Men. But the actress was not very keen on the role and was not a big fan of superhero movies back then. She would make fun of the idea of it all until Marvel began fantasy movie making.

The actress had also refused to play a part in Wonder Woman previously, but the actress then explained how she had a change of heart.
What led Evangeline Lilly to like and work in a Marvel movie
The superhero movie started growing on Lilly only after she gave Marvel movies a try. Her agent then encouraged her to act in the 2015 movie Ant-Man alongside Paul Rudd. The movie turned out to be a big success and working on it made her realize how fun such themes could be.
She reprised her role with her co-star for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which was released on 17 February of this year. Perhaps she could join X-Men sometime in the future.
