“I don’t put that on Henry”- As Fans Place Superman & Lois at the Top, a Renowned Critic Comes to the Rescue of Henry Cavill
It is ironic how Henry Cavill and his Superman role have found themselves at their peak following the actor’s retirement. This is not to say that Superman was an underrated character, and fans did not care about it enough. The superhero symbolising strength, justice, and hope had always been one of, if not the greatest superheroes of all time. It is amidst people debating if Superman will ever be great again after Cavill’s exit that another Superman-oriented series is being brought into comparison.
Following Henry Cavill’s exit, there was enough sorrow to last for decades. Many boldly penned down how Superman would never be great again. However, given the relevance of Superman, there is enough fish in the sea. And big-budget movies with a single hero are not all that DC has going for itself. Its Superman and Lois series is doing well among fans and critics. However, this has nothing to do with Henry Cavill or his performance. Or, more specifically, the lack of it.

Henry Cavill should not be blamed for Superman’s failure
As the British actor bid farewell to Superman, it was only a matter of time before everyone started pointing fingers. Some reasoned that was the lacklustre results that the Superman movies starring Henry Cavill gave, which resulted in his exit. At the same time, others blamed Snyder for his dark frames. However, after becoming subject to many accusations following his appreciation of the Superman and Lois series, Amon Warmann, a renowned film critic, has cleared that the Superman movies not leaving a mark has nothing to do with Henry Cavill.
“I don’t put that on Henry Cavill,” Warmann wrote on Twitter. In his earlier tweet, he marveled at how beautifully the character of Clark is presented in Superman and Lois. And in his tweet defending Henry Cavill, he states that it wasn’t Cavill but the scripts he was working with that were to be blamed.
