But while the actors have kept up their appearances and made time for interviews, they also ended up spilling a few secrets along the way. But the revelation that steals the cake is when Anya Chalotra opened up on using a stunt double for the intimate scenes in Season 1. While having a stunt double is extremely common in big films and TV shows, the actress felt uncomfortable with that idea.

When Anya Chalotra revealed she did everything herself

Shortly after The Witcher made its debut in 2019, Anya Chalotra had a surprising interview with Metro UK. During the interview, the actress told them how she felt about having a stunt double. She said that even though she had one, she “only used her for the first s*x scene” in the series. After that, Chalotra took it upon herself to take up the scenes with nudity as she had strong feelings towards her character.

When she was asked why took it on herself, she said, “I didn’t feel comfortable anyone else portraying Yennefer.” Anya Chalotra, who once did not have high hopes for her future, continued by telling the interviewer that she did not like having a stunt double take over for her because was still acting and it was her character. While it may have proved that the actress loves being super authentic, she also revealed how The Witcher team managed to avoid any full-frontal scenes since she took over in season 1.

Although they have since managed to work together and bring their audience super intense semi-nude scenes, Anya Chalotra could not help herself when she pointed out the scene her stunt double was in.

Anya Chalotra helps fans differentiate between her and her stunt double

During the same interview with Metro, Anya Chalotra talked about the scene she shared with her stunt double. She said that it was before Yennefer had undergone her transformation. The scene was between her character and Istredd. The two are caught up in a rather passion-filled scene where Yen imagines an audience cheering on her sexual prowess. The actress admitted that though she did end up taking over the scene, there was one wide shot that featured her stunt double instead.

While it may be rare to see actors taking their roles extremely seriously, Anya Chalotra has proved that she definitely loves her craft. Fans may not be getting another steamy scene like that one anytime soon, but at least everyone now knows that the star does not play when it comes to her character.
