“…I am spoon-feeding the clickbait,” Meghan Markle Defends Terms That Have Become “unnecessarily charged”

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, with her enlightening Archetypes podcasts, completes the Tuesdays for us. However, unlike the previous one, the latest episode was nowhere near cute little children and their parenting. Instead, Markle and her guests talked about the raging social media and unnecessary taboos.

While exploring the excessively modernized social media that has in a way become harmful to mankind, Markle made some mind-bending points. The Duchess talked about how some words that were purely used for genuine purposes for the welfare of society have lost their essence. In fact, they have been turned into something that means the total opposite of what they actually stood for.

What did Meghan Markle say about being ‘woke’?

Keeping her focus firmly on the empowerment of women, Markle strongly defended words like “woke.” She boldly said in the face of the dark internet that words as such have unnecessarily become charged when it comes to women. “I realize I am spoon-feeding the click bait,” said Markle before questioning the very essence of the word.

By asking how a word that literally meant awareness of injustice in society eventually became taboo, especially for women, she questioned the advancement of the modern world. By giving some examples of such categories of words, she also talked about feminism. According to her, the term has slowly started to lose its value and has become something more of a demeaning term associated with people who are feminists.

The title of the podcast was just as self-explanatory. The Audacity of the Activists was by far one of the most powerful podcast sessions by Meghan Markle. She is forever known for her boldness and straightforwardness in voicing such unpopular opinions, not unlike late Princess Diana, whom the former actress considers as an idol. However, royal experts and subjects feel Markle pales in comparison to former Princess of Wales, who is much loved by the citizens of Britain.

What is your take on the matter? Do you agree with what Markle affirmed? Or do you have something else to chip in? If so, feel free to share in the comments below.
