Netflix’s The Witcher has been facing twists and turns during and after when Henry Cavill was a part of the show. The show has been in discussion among fans because of its deviation from the original source material as well. However, after the third season, fans’ perspective changed as it was much closer to the books by Andrzej Sapkowski. Volume 2 of Season 3 explored the characters and exposed deeper layers to their arcs.

Despite being closer to the source material, the third season received mixed reviews from the viewers. Although the season finale might be bad news for the streaming giant, it also has positive potential for the future of the show.

Throughout 2 seasons, the Netflix Original explored various parts of the Continent. It also saw how Geralt of Rivia was neutral until he finally met Princess Cirilla of Cintra. The previous seasons also showcased Yennefer of Vengerberg turning into a powerful sorceress. However, the third season changed a lot of things. If we look at the negative side of the finale, it saw Henry Cavill leaving the show. The British actor was a major reason for the majority of the fandom’s attraction to the show. Therefore, his departure felt like a never-healing heartbreak to them.

But this season also proved the show was never meant for the White Wolf only. The third season was mainly focused on Ciri. Throughout the season, from Redania to Aretuza, everyone wanted to capture Cirilla to use her for their personal gains. Even the powerful mage, Vilgefortz, was also after her to use her for his own benefit. But Ciri’s protective father, Geralt, somehow saved her from getting caught.

Ciri, who was struggling to control her innate powers throughout the previous seasons, was able to embrace her magical powers in the third season. The season 3 finale exposed her, using her powers to her fullest capacity. She even took out a sea creature, faced challenges in the desert, showcased her swordsmanship, and introduced herself as Falka. Falka was a former quarter-elf and descendant of a person who was fated to bring about the world’s destruction. Therefore, despite the Netflix drama following the departure of the fan-favorite actor, there are still plenty of good things to look forward to in the upcoming seasons.

What can you expect in the future seasons of the Netflix drama?

The Superman actor officially handed over his swords and medallion to Liam Hemsworth. Therefore, the first thing the viewers can expect is Geralt’s new face with Hemsworth’s input to the character. The Australian actor has a great challenge ahead of him. Furthermore, the upcoming seasons will justify the chase after Ciri, making her the center of the story. Because the plot of the third season focused more on Ciri’s exploration of her powers, the upcoming seasons will also justify the search.

Yennefer took over her role as a powerful leader of Aretuza after the sad demise of her beloved, Tissaia. Therefore, the forthcoming seasons will also portray Yennefer of Vengerberg in a more powerful light. However, there are still questions about how much the adaptation will follow the original material. Given the third season’s turns of events, the rest of the show will certainly bring a lot more exciting experience.
