How Season 3 of ‘The Witcher’ Fulfilled Henry Cavill’s Wish Before Departure
Henry Cavill‘ exit from The Witcher was perhaps one of the most shocking events of 2022. The actor’s departure became a hot topic of contention among the show’s fanbase. Not only did the fans grieve the actor’s departure, the show also suffered significantly. The Witcher saw a huge drop in viewers and it also failed to impress the audience with its creative directions. Not long ago, the show’s third season made its way to our screens. And it might surprise you to know but The Witcher fulfilled Cavill’s one last wish before departure.
As we all know, following Henry Cavill’s exit from The Witcher, a number of reasons surfaced. A huge number of speculations suggested that the actor was not happy with the show’s lack of loyalty to its source material. However, now that the actor is leaving, it seems like the creators have finally addressed his complaints. Cavill’s last outing as the Geralt in season 3 followed the source material in the most accurate way.

Unlike the previous two seasons, season 3 was the closest adaptation of the Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels. While the show cannot bring to life everything from the source material, it did complete justice to those it presented on our screens. Apart from being the most book accurate season, the third installment also took out some of the scenes right from the novel itself.
For instance, the scene where Jaskier and Ciri make fun of the conversation between Geralt and Yennefer is a slice of the novel. Moreover, one of the fight scenes between Ciri and Wyvern following which Ciri takes a flight with the Wild Hunt was also the same as the texts.
While the show did a great job of following the texts, it is too late since Cavill will no longer be returning as the Geralt. Moreover, the show has already reported a 30% drop in its viewership counts as well.

The third installment of The Witcher was one of the most anticipated seasons of the series. Apart from being the last time Cavill would make his appearance as the Geralt, season 3 also had to fulfill a huge promise. However, it seems like the show has failed to live up to it again.
As we all know, with season 3 fans were hoping to see more of the relationship between Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer. The two seasons also gave a good buildup for the same. However, part 1 of season 3 did not give the fans as much of the trio as the audience expected. Only the initial episodes saw the three together, while the latter three parts did not feature them together. With part 2 of the third season on the way, fans can only expect more scenes of the family.
