How Finn Wolfhard’s Tryst With Classifieds Set Him for the Now Iconic ‘Stranger Things’
In the arena of acting, hard work and perseverance pay off well. However, to brush shoulders with mainstream pop culture and stand out as a recognizable face across the globe requires a better of the traits above. Netflix’s horror fantasy, Stranger Things, has served as one such platform, offering its once-child actors like Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard the launchpad to spotlight. While the Eleven actress took the route of talent agencies and early roles, her on-screen love interest had an alternate approach.

Appearing on screens with the 2016 premiere of Stranger Things, Finn Wolfhard found fame by playing a character four years younger than him. In four seasons, he has not only developed a nuanced character arc but also understood the intricacies of showbiz prominently enough to accurately guess a possible spin-off for the show. In his March appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Canadian actor revealed that he got his first acting job “off of Craigslist, which like, sounds really sketchy.”
Diving into the details, he explained how he appeared for an open casting call for starring in a music video for a local band. Describing it as “really fun,” he played a younger version of one of the group’s members and made his tryst with acting. The path would then lead him to appear for the Hawkins gang and get cast at about thirteen years of age and continue to hold it until about eight years later and on the verge of wrapping up filming of its last season.
Incidentally, the actor might have to wait for a while before he bids adieu as, by his admissions, the show still has a long way to go.

Delayed by the twin Hollywood strikes, the next and final season of Stranger Things currently runs months behind schedule. Close to one and a half years after the airing of its season four finale in July 2022, the show resumed production on January 8, 2024. However, Finn Wolfhard recently admitted that there still lies about nine more months of production, despite the headway of three months.
In all likelihood, the shoots, reshoots, post-production, and editing of season five of Stranger Things set it for a late 2025 release. However, with the stakes running high and its actors moving on with other projects, the show may look for an early push. Regardless, the outcome lies up to fate and the showrunner’s desire for a proper send-off.
