Shawn Levy sat down with Wired for an extensive interview talking about his current project on 31 October. He touched on the constant delay of his acclaimed show Stranger Things and how far along was season 5. The filmmaker said the scripts of the final season were not complete when the WGA strike started. The shooting was also about to begin in June, but the strike has halted and the team has been on “hot standby” since then.
He then added, “it’s killing us, because these fucking kids, they will not slow down the aging process”. No matter how hard they try, it would not stop and even AI cannot change that, said Levy. According to him, technology can contain it on the screen only, but in real life, it was impossible because it was just a natural process of human life.
This news has only come days after the 55-year-old addressed the age issue of the cast members and promised fans they would try their best to hide it. Meanwhile, in another new interview, the executive producer had teased what viewers can expect from the finale of their beloved show and it only involves tears.

In his latest interview with Radio Times, Shawn Levy spilled beans on the character plotlines that season 5 will follow. Though he did not reveal anything, he did say Noah Schnapp will share “juicy details” when the time comes. Also, when the outlet asked him if there would be any tears, he made an astounding remark.
“Big tears, lots of them,” said the Canadian director. So fans have to be a little more patient to say goodbye to their beloved show. Until then, viewers can watch his new show All The Light We Cannot See. The miniseries has finally arrived on Netflix and is based on Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name.
