The last season of Henry Cavill has finally arrived. Only a few days left to see the English actor as his iconic character in The Witcher. His departure has made a tremendous impact on the show’s fans and on the cast members as well. Well, as the show must go on, the Netflix drama has a lot to explore on the Continent and about the central character as well. Therefore, giving up on the show after the actor’s exit does not seem a good idea because it will finally feature how the White Wolf became Geralt of Rivia.

The Geralt of Rivia is not the name that the Witcher always had. As ScreenRant revealed, there would be so much to explore in The Witcher universe, and the title “Rivia” is one of them. With a lot of controversies, Geralt has always been a natural monster killer. But whenever anyone has addressed him, they have always uttered, “Geralt of Rivia” and there is a special reason for that.

Although Geralt’s birthplace is unknown, he was certainly not born in Rivia. His mother left him and Vesemir took him in and brought him up in Kaer Morhen. It is in the realm of Kaedwen, where Geralt initially took Ciri, too. Now, his mentor Vesemir told him to gain a client’s trust as the Witchers must have a surname. And because he did not have anything else, Geralt adapted “of Rivia” to add to his name.

Fans have been watching Geralt getting into a lot of fights for the past 2 seasons, but the third season is different. But back when Ciri was not in his life, Geralt and company got involved in a fight at the Battle of the Bridge on the Yaruga.
