House of Cards, the political thriller drama by Beau Willimon, has been one of Netflix's most ambitious projects to date. The series has garnered numerous nominations from the Emmys to the Golden Globes, underscoring its immense success. While the show has paved the way to stardom for many of its cast members, Kevin Spacey's journey took a dramatic turn in 2017 when Netflix severed ties with him.

Reflecting on his fork-stuck life since then, Spacey recently criticized Netflix for wrongfully terminating him, calling it a misstep on their part and openly discussing what went wrong.

Kevin Spacey recently appeared at Piers Morgan Uncensored, where he spoke emotionally and fought back tears while recounting the series of challenges he has faced since being terminated by Netflix. He discussed the legal disputes and financial difficulties that followed. Looking back on his relationship with Netflix, Spacey called out the company for making a "wrong decision" in firing him, stating it was detrimental to both their brand and business.

Spacey argued that if Netflix applied the same standard, they used to terminate him, they would need to do so whenever anyone faced accusations. He noted that Ted Sarandos seemed supportive of controversial figures like Dave Chappelle and expressed his wish that the same support had been extended to him. However, it is no news to the House of Cards lovers that the streamer chose to go ahead with two more seasons without Spacey.

Netflix and Kevin Spacey had a special relationship until things took a downturn in 2017. The termination not only harmed his public image, stardom, and finances, but also strained personal relationships. During his appearance at Piers Morgan Uncensored, Spacey revealed he has not heard from his co-star, Robin Wright, since "September or October 2017."

Reflecting on this, Spacey suggested that Wright distanced herself to avoid confronting difficult questions. Although he understands her perspective, his disappointment is evident. Recently, however, actors like Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone have expressed support for Spacey in statements to The Telegraph, hinting that a silver lining may still lie ahead for him.
