In the past decade, K-drama has emerged as one of the most successful genres on television as well as digital streaming platforms. Netflix’s own catalog is filled with various K-drama options to satiate this hunger of fans with shows like When Life Gives You Tangerines and All of Us Are Dead among the famous ones.

Their top show is Squid Game, a global phenomenon that needs no introduction.  As Netflix sets to work on another K-drama addition, Honey Jar Project, here is everything you need to know about it.

Netflix's collection of K dramas ranges from funny and intense to romantic and suspenseful, as they promise to make the audience laugh and cry, and feel every emotion. This time, they are ready to scare the audience with an upcoming horror comedy, the Honey Jar Project, with its name a working title at the moment. The show will be led by South Korean actor and model Lee Jae Wook.

That 26-year-old has starred in many Korean shows like The Alchemy of Souls, The Impossible Heir, Death’s Game, and more. He will also be seen in another upcoming Netflix series, Dear Horang. As per What's on Netflix, so far only one name has been confirmed, with the rest of the cast being expected to be announced soon.

But what is the plot of the series that assures the audience a ride of horror mixed with comedy?

A majority of the details are being kept under wraps at the moment, with the main plot being one of them. But Netflix has not fully disappointed its fans and has shared a peek of the storyline, which will be following Lee Jae Wook as the main character of Byeon Hyeok. Wook will be essaying the role of a man in his 30s who begins a super high-value part-time job.

It is hoped that with the reveal of other cast members, more information about the plotline and characters will be shared. The series, which will be comprised of 8 episodes and is billed as a South Korean Netflix original fantasy, will be directed by Kim Da Min and Han Jun Hee. The plot will surely intrigue the fans who must want to know when the drama is getting released.

The filming of the series is expected to start in mid-April 2025 and is going to continue for many months. Its estimated wrapping date is around November this year. Hence, there is no release date at the moment.

Currently, Netflix is busy with back-to-back shows and movies and has a list of upcoming releases lined up. With that being done, and once the Honey Jar Project finishes its shooting, Netflix will release a release date soon for the drama for next year.
