My military career saved me”- Prince Harry on How Serving His Nation Got Him the One Thing He Always Wanted
For dealing with the struggles of his neglected childhood, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex went out of the royals’ strategy and opted for various other reasons to keep himself grounded. Although many happened to be matters of trenchant controversies, some actually saved his life, or so says the Duke himself. Prince Harry felt normal after having joined the Royal Army
One of the key milestones in the Duke’s life has been his selfless service to the United Kingdom. However, little did we know it actually helped the Prince in areas unknown. “My military career saved me in many regards,” affirmed the Duke to Anderson Cooper in the interview. And one of the primary reasons that his career fetched him was his long desire to feel normal, away from the royal rota and the media-feeding frenzy, at least for once.
It “got me out of the spotlight from the UK press,” stated the Duke. His ten dedicated years in the British army helped him focus on a purpose larger than himself. “To be wearing the same uniform as everybody else, to feel normal for the first time,” was one of the best experiences for him after having joined the royal military.
