Apart from being two of the most watched shows on Netflix, there is something else that connects Stranger Things and You. And it is the love Millie Bobby Brown has for the series. Back in 2019, when Stranger Things had dropped its third season and Brown had already attained unprecedented fame, the young actress shared a hot take about the protagonist of Netflix’s You.

Considering how it is a fictional series, Netflix took things up a notch. While most identified the problems in the protagonist, some like a fifteen-year-old Millie Bobby Brown at that time could not.

How did Millie Bobby Brown defend Joe Goldberg?

When you step foot into the twisted world of Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s You, nothing seems out of the ordinary. That is until a woman catches his eye, and any semblance of morality leaves his body. This is why fans were left disappointed when Millie Bobby Brown justified his actions. “He’s not creepy, he’s in love with her and it’s okay...” Brown wrote on her Instagram story as reported by Teen Vogue.

Brown further wrote, “By the way, I know everybody is gonna say ‘Ahhh, he’s a stalker, why would you support that?!’ But like, he’s in love with her… just watch the show and don’t judge me on my opinion.”

The protagonist of the series starts by stalking and proceeds to gaslight, kidnap, and murder all the while quoting revered authors. Therefore, fans could not heed the Stranger Things actress’ demands and schooled her about how wrong she was.
