“He’s not a brute” – Long Before Leaving ‘The Witcher’, Henry Cavill Shared His Take on Geralt in Season 2
In the world of Hollywood, only a few actors truly leave a mark on their audiences. While it may have taken him some time to get his career off the ground, Henry Cavill has proved to be one of those actors. Although he has had a pretty remarkable career since his time on The Tudors, two of his roles have been nothing short of iconic. They are his DC stint as Superman and Geralt of Rivia on Netflix’s The Witcher.
While the actor has since left both roles behind, he once opened up about how he thought his sword-yielding character should be portrayed in Season 2.

Back in 2021, when Henry Cavill was riding the wave of love from The Witcher fans, the actor dove into the second season of the series. He made his way to Witcher Con, where he addressed the audience and revealed that he was not extremely happy about how his character Geralt was portrayed in the first season. “He’s not a brute,” explained the now 40-year-old star.
While season 1 showed the world Geralt’s sword-fighting skills, they may have overdone it a bit. However, the actor also revealed big plans for season 2 by saying that he wanted to “be verbose and be intellectual.” Although the second season definitely showed fans a different side of him, it looks like that was not enough to get the Argylle actor to stay on board with the project.
Although the actor has given up the role to Liam Hemsworth, he is not out of the acting scene just yet. In fact, with rumors that he could be the next James Bond, Henry Cavill seems to have already planned his upcoming films.

After breaking away from The Witcher, Henry Cavill decided to throw himself into the role of a spy. His first move after leaving the show was securing his role in the upcoming spy thriller Argylle. While news of the film gained traction thanks to the actor sporting a bizarre haircut, the storyline got more interesting once the world found out the reason for it.
Cavill is also said to be a part of a couple of unknown Guy Ritchie projects, including his upcoming 2024 film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. He was also said to be recast as Connor Macleod in the upcoming remake of the 1986 Christopher Lambert film, Highlander. While the British star may have left behind a few huge roles behind him, it looks like his fans are in for a treat with his future projects.
