“He’s been devouring…” – Joey Batey Sheds Light on How Liam Hemsworth is Training to Be the Next Witcher
The Witcher has brought an immersive world with fantasy like no other. And at the center of that dark gritty universe stands Geralt of Rivia, the titular character, and the legendary monster hunter. Portraying Geralt certainly requires a unique blend of physicality, emotional depth, and a true understanding of the complex character. And while Henry Cavill had fans basking in his glory, is Liam Hemsworth preparing himself to outdo his predecessor?
Seems like the fan-favorite bard Jaskier, AKA Joey Batey, has some clue about it. The Witcher season 3 debuted on the screen a free hours back and everyone, including the cast and crew, is working to hype it up. And unsurprisingly enough, The Hunger Games actor is also a major topic of discussion. Recently talking about how Hemsworth is preparing himself to be the next monster hunter, Batey said to Games Radar, “His training regime is insane, and he’s been devouring the books.”
One must also note that even though they have not physically met each other, they are in contact via email. Well, not only are they in contact but they have also been “exchanging our favorite quotes from the books and things like that.” Notably, apart from Joey Batey, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan also shed light on their communication with the new Witcher.

When the interviewer asked if they have met Liam Hemsworth, Chalotra also responds by stating, “Just through email.” She apparently dropped him a “message of support” when the news arrived. Notably, in an interview with Variety, the British actress also mentioned that she looks forward to collaborating with the new light. Even though Chalotra will miss Henry Cavill, she believes that Liam Hemsworth will be “brilliant.”
Freya Allan, the actress who portrays Princess Cirilla though did not have much say in it, she did side with her co-actors efforts to make Hemsworth feel at home. “I’m glad you guys all did that…,” Allan notably said in the interview. And since she has not been much outspoken about Cavill’s exit, only the future can tell how well her dynamics with the Australian actor workout.
