No, Kanye West did not act or sing for the 2022 movie Elvis, at least directly. As per Screenrant, Baz Luhrmann used Ye’s song Black Skinhead in one of the scenes to amplify the audience experience. While the movie was critically acclaimed, a few of the scenes were mixed with modern music to give it an extra sing. In the scene. Elvis attempted to escape the evil world of his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Upon shooting the scene, the director could sense the lack of energy that it deserved to have. That resulted in him adding Ye’s 2013 song Black Skinhead to solve the problem, and it worked!
But West is not the only modern artist whose creativity was mixed in Elvis. Gary Clark Jr.’s electrifying music also served as a flavor enhancer for the flick. While the director took some big risks by adding modern hip-hop vibes in a movie of this kind, it certainly has an impactful outcome.
The movie had Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge, etc. in the lead cast. While there have been many coverages on the iconic singer, this one is set apart by connecting old times with new ones.
