Henry Cavill, the man behind Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, has consistently been a staunch supporter of incorporating fan feedback to guide the show’s development. Since the show’s inception, Cavill has been a rock-solid advocate for staying true to the source material. This has been one of the reasons why he was initially set to appear in all seven seasons. Still, the storm clouds gathered when it was revealed that Ciri and Triss would deviate from their expected roles.

Cavill, however, wasted no time in throwing an anchor to these worries, affirming that fans were only passionate about the novels and were steadfast in their call for the show to stick to the original script.

Henry Cavill sat down with the Golden Globes for an interview in 2022, delving into his iconic role and putting fans’ worries to rest. In the discussion, the actor revealed that when it comes to fan groups, it is a shared experience. Cavill could resonate with the zeal and protectiveness of the fans because he was himself one of them. Belonging to the same tribe as the passionate fans, he playfully stated, “The 12-year-old in me comes out” when the duty is to shield the franchise.

Following his decision to step out from the show, however, fans started speculating on the motivations behind his decision. Some guessed it was a clash of creativity with the show’s big shots, especially in how they put crucial scenes on the small screen. This came with the added apprehension of seeing Liam Hemsworth stepping into Geralt’s shoes. However, the on-screen arrival of this transition might stretch beyond the anticipated timeline.
