The British-born artist moved to America for a career in Hollywood. And in a country where NFL is treated like a festival, it is pretty tempting to join in on the craze.

Cavill is no exception, as the Britisher also came to love American football. The man is full of surprises revealing little details of himself now and then. And in an interview recently, he gave a glimpse of his sporty side with a surprising story behind his favorite team.

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor touched briefly on the topic of sports, admitting that he truly loves football and that he was a Chiefs fan. The team is based in Kansas City, Missouri. For which  Kimmel asked, “How did that happen?“.

According to Cavill, selecting a favorite team needs to be a permanent decision. And for him, the only permanent thing in his life and career is his Superman character. In fact, according to him, if Superman had a favorite team, it would be the same in real life as well. And the logic behind it all? Kent Clark Is from Kansas. The city that supports the Chiefs team. So it just “adds up.”

When asked whether the star would ever like to go attend a match, he confessed to already attending it! And having a great experience as well. The Enola Holmes actor also added how grand the openings of these games are, especially when compared to the scale with which rugby games are celebrated back home in England.
