Henry Cavill Exit Brings More Power to Anya Chalotra Following ‘The Witcher’ Season 3
The Witcher Season 3 marks the end of an era as Henry Cavill takes his leave from the show. It was mostly in Cavill’s performance that fans saw a clear connection between the source and the series. However, the mesmerizing sorceress, Yennfer, played by Anya Chalotra, does not fall much behind either. Therefore, as the arguable soul of the show exits, fans are wishing for the sorceress to work her magic as The Witcher enters a new era. But do the creators think the same?
It is clear by the loud outcry following Henry Cavill’s exit that the creators and fans are not on the same page. But it may just be for once they are willing to listen to each other.

After nearly months of refusal, fans have come to accept that Henry Cavill will no more play Geralt only if characters such as Yennefer, Ciri, and Jaskier, took center stage. While it has been made clear through the introduction of The Rats, that Ciri will be the focal point of Season 3 as she gains more power, this may also be true for Yennefer. As per Redanian Intelligence, towards the end of the third season, the sorceress will gather Thanedd survivors and urge them to take matters into their own hands.
It is very likely that while Philippa is handling things at Redania, Yennefer is tasked to lead The Lodge of Sorceresses. The powerful organization in question consists of Yennefer, Triss Merigold, Sabrina Glevissig, Keira Metz, and Margarita Laux-Antille, and Philippa Eilhart.
The likes of Season 4 or the second part of The Witcher Season 3 will see Yennefer dauntlessly depose Philippa Eilhart. However, this is the only time fans may wish for Lauren Schmidt Hissrich to not go by the book.
Will Netflix’s Yennefer have the same fate as Sapkowski’s Yennefer?

Given how we are edging closer to the end of The Witcher Season 3, and the series has seen a bare minimum accuracy to the book, it is not something to fret over. However, the bare minimum has seen a substantial raise in the recent season. From Geralt’s confession to Ciri and the trio going their separate ways, it is right out of the book. And if Hissrich does not aim at pitching Yennefer as a sorceress with political prowess, then she is heading to an endless loop of being a captive.
The fate of Yennefer following the Thanedd Coup, which is set to take place in the second part of Season 3, is quite cruel. She is either a prisoner on the run or simply a prisoner. For Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who is quite a fan of creative freedom when it comes to twisting the tale of The Witcher, Yennefer is just the beacon she can use to turn the tides.
