How did Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone go from arch-nemesis to best friends?

In an interview with Forbes, Stallone once openly admitted the reason behind them being at loggerheads at all times. All are aware of how both bodybuilders paved their way into Hollywood as action stars. According to Stallone, this precisely, and the competition that prevailed between the two, was one of the biggest reasons they were not friends offscreen. “He is very competitive,” Stallone confessed in the interview.

He further added that they used to “dislike each other immensely” before films like The Expendables and Escape Plan turned the tables. According to reports, and as direct eyewitnesses, the two 80s titans came together only when they started working as co-actors on-screen. Although Stallone was well aware of the competitive nature of Schwarzenegger, he started taking it in a way that helped them both on-screen. Their competitiveness, although never a healthy thing, somehow helped the Hollywood giants come together.
