In fact, they even collaborated on the song Eyez Closed back in 2011. Although they visibly grew apart in recent times, thanks to Ye’s controversies.

Back in 2016, West became one of the few black Trump supporters and was all over the media, praising the candidate. A lot of celebrities went against Ye for his support and some controversial remarks that he made. Like everyone else, Snoop Dogg was also asked about his opinion on Ye and his situation. How did Snoop Dogg once defend Kanye West?

Snoop Dogg is certainly not a fan of Kanye West with the ongoing controversies. But there was a time when the Wiggle rapper defended the Gold Digger singer. During an interview on The Madd Hatta Morning Show, Snoop Dogg was asked if he had forgiven Kanye West. The singer responded by saying that he does not hate West but said that, “I hate the fact that he is being brainwashed, he is being used.” He also added that West has millions of loved ones and they listen to him when he speaks. Dogg thinks that Ye is not surrounded by very smart people and even mentioned Kim Kardashian and her past.

He was likely referring to the Kardashian’s viral tape and her other link-ups. Snoop Dogg may have indirectly hinted at the SKIMS owner for not keeping a check on her then-husband, Kanye West. West suddenly started making comments and even broke down during a performance. Ultimately, his relationship with Kim Kardashian was ruined. Four kids later, the two finally divorced.

Now Ye has only made more enemies with his antisemitic views and comments on black icons like Rosa Parks. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg teamed up with Kim Kardashian to promote her SKIMS holiday collection along with his family.
